For my self-led senior design capstone project I designed, The Depths of Fashion, a conceptual collection that merges fashion design with marine biology. Through aquatic textures, fluid silhouettes, and biomorphic detailing, the project reflects my fascination with life beneath the surface and its connection to transformation in fashion.
“The Depths of Fashion” is a four-look collection that dives into the mysterious, awe-inspiring world beneath the ocean’s surface. Inspired by marine biology, each design transforms elements of sea life—like the elegant silhouette of a stingray, the shimmer of a jellyfish, the delicate curvature of a seahorse, or the bold defense of a pufferfish—into imaginative, wearable fashion.
This project is a bold and relatively new approach to storytelling through design. It’s not just about aesthetics—it’s about meaning, curiosity, and connection. The garments are crafted with intention, merging scientific influence with high fashion, offering viewers something visually striking and intellectually engaging.
In an era where creative, out-of-the-box brands gain attention on runways and across media, “The Depths of Fashion” stands out. It appeals to fashion lovers who crave whimsical, unique pieces with a story behind them—pieces that start conversations and leave lasting impressions. With eye-catching designs that are runway-ready, this collection is designed to resonate with audiences looking for something both bold and beautiful.

Fashion Design and Sketching
This course deepened my passion for fashion sketching and expanded my creative range. Each week, I was challenged to design garments, accessories, and footwear inspired by imaginative prompts. These included single themes—such as a specific decade, culture, an “-ism,” or natural element—as well as dual-concept prompts, like combining the Edwardian era with one of the four classical elements.
My designs span many styles, for example, high fashion, couture, theatrical costume design, and ready-to-wear looks. Inspired by nature, metamorphosis, animals, plants, geology, and more, this course allowed me to explore fashion as a storytelling medium and a multidimensional art form that transcends time, place, and concept.
